Sadness
Sorrow is not a sign of weak faith. Scripture makes room for tears, and these verses speak of a God who draws near to the brokenhearted.
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”
“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”
